OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM
Executive Team
Born in the UK, Andrew moved to Hong Kong at age 12, where he met and later married his wife, Christine. They have a beautiful adopted daughter Mia. Andrew holds a Master of Theology, oversees the executive leadership team at The Vine, and is devoted to creatively telling the gospel story.
Karla, her husband Richard, and their two children have embraced Hong Kong as their home since arriving in 2002. Karla as the Executive Pastor oversees the Senior Leadership Team, and Vine Operations. She is passionate about seeing lives transformed by the love of God and seeing people flourish in their gifts and talents. Her favourite pastimes include trail running and sharing meals with loved ones.
Senior Leadership Team
Jess was born and raised in Hong Kong, continued her high school and university studies in England and lived in London till she relocated back to Hong Kong in 2017. She worked for Alpha International in London and her passion is to see young adults equipped and released to walk in the fullness of their God given identity, calling and gifts.
Vivien was born and raised in Hong Kong, and is married to Sidney. They have two young adult children. She holds a Bachelor of Theology from Lutheran Theological Seminary (Hong Kong) and has a vision to develop a strong Chinese Community, for Cantonese and Mandarin speakers, at The Vine.
An Australian who loves people, cycling, food, and bringing change to the world. Having settled in Hong Kong from 2010 he condenses his professional experience across finance, economic development, and consulting into the missions space at The Vine. His passion is mobilising people to find the connection between their faith and the practical steps needed to address social issues. He has a Masters in Globalisation and Development Studies from SOAS, University of London.
Promise and his wife Kayla arrived in Hong Kong from the US in 2016. He believes music is a great medium in which both God and His love can be revealed. Promise has a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and is currently pursuing his Masters of Divinity. In his free time, he enjoys songwriting and exploring cities.
Tim was born in Germany and moved to the US when he was 17 years old. He has a Doctor of Ministry degree and has 14 years of experience working as a youth, associate, and lead pastor overseas as well as in Hong Kong. Tim believes in the importance of Christian community as a place to grow toward being like Jesus and in our love for others.
Ellison was born in Hong Kong, studying in the UK during his teenage years. He is married to Brittney, a true Texan. Ellison holds a Masters of Theological Studies and was a Youth Pastor before joining The Vine. His heart for developing people drives his ministry with Community Groups.
Elders
After a spiritual awakening in Singapore, Sidney and his family relocated to Hong Kong, joining The Vine 8 years ago. Sidney and his wife served bilingual Community Groups and the Cantonese Alpha course. He is a tent-maker, bringing his mission ‘to serve, care, and share life’ to his Elder role.
Born in Hong Kong, raised in Singapore and migrated to New Zealand, Ken has been with the Vine Church since 2008. Ken works in financial services and public relations; his heart is bridging faith to the marketplace, and seeing the gospel reach as many as possible in the community. Ken and his wife Meika met at a Christian fellowship in 2020, and both have a passion for missionary and mentorship work. Ken is a proud dad of a teenager son studying and thriving in England.
Susanna Lynam has been a member of The Vine for 15 years. She is married to Glen and they have 4 children, Christina, Callan, Sabay and Ella. Over the years she has served and been a part of many facets of church life including the Worship Team, Prayer Team, Missions Team, Women's Ministry, Preaching Team, Branches of Hope and Eldership. Her passion is to see the church making space for God's presence and loving people well.
Sky was born into a missionary family serving in Ghana, West Africa. Originally from Hong Kong, she returned “home” in 2005 and has been actively serving in various capacities at The Vine. With a background in nonprofit public health work, she has been working in local organisations to serve youth and marginalized populations in Hong Kong.
A Chicago-American, Howard moved to Hong Kong in 1996 for a job but instead, found a home. His work in financial services and interest in philosophy and economics underlie a passion for social justice and equality issues. Howard, his (very) Taiwanese wife Clarissa and their two boys have been part of the Vine family since 2016.
Damien has attended and been involved in many ministries at The Vine since mid-2007. He founded and heads a food import business and is passionate about leadership development and marketplace ministry. He and his wife Sylvie met as young adults at The Vine’s Oneighty fellowship, and they are proud parents of two young children.
Trudy has been with the Vine Church since 2007. Trudy’s heart is to see the church be awakened, revived and restored where each brother and sister immersing in the Father’s love so that the fullness of Christ and abundance of life be revealed in and through the body as a true community and family in Christ.
Tafadzwa Moyo (Taz) came to Hong Kong in 2017 from her home country Zimbabwe with her husband Khanyisa and two children Eliana and Joel. She has a passion for prayer and loves seeing the purposes of God prevailing in peoples’ lives through prayer and is currently serving in the prayer team, intercession team and community group prayer team at the Vine Church. She is also a community group leader at the Vine.
Founding Pastors
John and his wife Sandra came to Hong Kong in 1987 and arrived at the church in 1995. He began working full-time at The Vine in 2003. They use their pastor’s hearts, as well as their love for evangelism and prayer to connect with many Chinese and International churches.
Tony came to Hong Kong in 1986 with his wife Drusilla and their family. He has served as an Elder since The Vine’s start in 1997. From 2004-2012, he served with John Snelgrove as senior pastor. Today, Tony serves as Justice Advocate, connecting the church with relevant social justice issues.
